We were approached by Universal Music to fully concept and create an animated music video for 80’s legends, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark’s – ‘Don’t Go’ which come from their 40th Anniversary Boxset and Singles collection ‘Souvenir’.
We created the narrative of a man who had to let go the love of his life and thus live monotonously in the rat race of life, never quite being able to move on. We wanted to create an emotive piece as a juxtaposition to the more upbeat 80’s synth that is signature to OMD and have a story that pulls at your heart-strings.
Colour palette was an important part of our creative direction, as we wanted to create a Film Noir style texturised visual with simple pops of colour here and there – mint green and pink.
